As mentioned in the "world to local coordinate translation" post, I was able to re-code the coordinate translation to enable moving canvasses. This can be shown in the video below.

Unfortunately I am still limited in terms of colours and opacity in brushes due to the way the render target functions. Also, the canvas is locked to a strict 1-1 ratio. Given more time, I would have liked to find an alternative option that could have enabled more flexibility.
